Sermo angelicus

Description

Sermo angelicus was, according to the sources, dictated to Birgitta in Swedish by an angel, whereupon it was translated into Latin. Its composition is dated to sometime during Birgitta’s first years in Rome, possibly 1350 or 1354, while she was living next to San Lorenzo in Damaso. The work is meant as daily readings, lectiones, for Birgittine nuns.

The edition is embedded from Litteraturbanken.
