Pavia, The Carthusian monastery La Certosa di Pavia – Original Locations

Manuscripts
  • Milano, Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense, Lat. AD XIV 23, late 14th or early 15th century (Aa).
    • Belonged to La Certosa di Pavia, a Carthusian monastery north of Pavia founded in 1396. Undhagen (ed. 1978, p. 164) considers it likely that the scribe mentioned in the manuscript, Manfredus, was a monk of this monastery. This scribe is identified on f. 276v with the following two Leonine verses:

"Nomen scriptoris si tu cognoscere queris.
Man tibi sit prima, fre media, dusque postrema."
