Ludovicus

Life

Ludovicus ("Lodouicus", Louis, early 15th century) was the scribe behind the second half of the manuscript Venezia, Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, Lat. III 117 (collocazione 2371), a. 1415 (in earlier scholarship often referred to as Lat. chart. (VII Ascetici) 32), of which the first half was copied by Johannes de Almania, who received its probable Vorlage (Città del Vaticano, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Vat.lat.3826, a. 1399) for at least parts of it from Ypolitus, abbot of S. Gerolamo di Quarto sulla Riviera (see discussion in Aili (ed.) 1992, pp. 24 f.).
