Ypolitus, abbot of S. Gerolamo di Quarto sulla Riviera

Life

Ypolitus (Hippolytus, early 15th century) was abbot in S. Gerolamo di Quarto sulla Riviera, an Augustinian monastery in Genoa founded by Alfonso of Jaén in 1382. According to a note in Città del Vaticano, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Cod. Lat. Vat. 3826 (f. 118r), Ypolitus gave this manuscript to Johannes de Almania, who together with the scribe Ludovicus and another unknown scribe had it copied, probably in a corrected form, the result of which was the manuscript Venezia, Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, Lat. III 117 (collocazione 2371), a. 1415.
