Manfredus

Life

Manfredus (around 1500) was the scribe behind Milano, Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense, Lat. AD XIV 23 (late 14th or early 15th century). He identifies himself on an annotation on f. 276v in two Leonine verses:

"Nomen scriptoris si tu cognoscere queris.
Man tibi sit prima, fre media, dusque postrema."

Since the manuscript belonged to La Certosa di Pavia, a Carthusian monastery north of Pavia, founded in 1396, Undhagen (ed. 1978, p. 164) sees it as probable that tManfredus, was a monk of this monastery.
